Remote Submerged Flight Conveyor (SFC) Dewatering Basins

Once your facility has made the decision to move forward with a system to dewater bottom ash, you will then have to decide which type of bottom ash handling system is right for you. Submerged Flight Conveyor (SFC) Systems are recognized as some of the most reliable and cost-effective dewatering mechanisms. The most prevalent type of SFC is the boiler bottom SFC. This type of bottom ash handling system can be integrated with most boiler types and is (as the name suggested) installed under the boilers. However, for smaller facilities with tight space constraints, another type of SFC, known as the remote submerged SFC dewatering basin, is also a viable option. These remote dewatering basins are able to be separated from the boiler, giving facilities some added flexibility for installations where water and/or headroom are limited.

As with all bottom ash dewatering systems, CDG takes a comprehensive approach to designing and specifying these SFC systems to ensure that installation can effectively take place during previously scheduled downtime and will not require your plant to be offline any longer than absolutely necessary. Let CDG’s team of mechanical, electrical and structural engineers help you identify, plan for and install the dewatering system that’s right for your facility. Contact us today to learn more.
