DID YOU KNOW…

CDG promotes engagement in activities that sustain a healthy lifestyle? Not only are employees encouraged to participate in friendly healthy lifestyle competitions from time to time, but CDG also sponsors a company softball team and a marathon relay team!

This year 8 employees on two teams participated in the GO! STL Relay marathon. Team 1 finished 3rd over all at 3:07 and Team 2 finished 17th overall at 3:44. Way to go team!

CERTIFIED IGNITION INTEGRATOR

The electrical engineering team at CDG provides a full range of automation and controls services that include programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, human machine interface (HMI) programming, control panel design, communication network-based applications, development of operation description/process logic diagrams and a variety of other automation engineering solutions.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve recently become a certified Ignition Integrator. Two of our automation and controls specialists, Lina Forero-Plackemeier and Patrick Fahrner, are specially qualified to assist with Ignition to address automation needs. If you’re looking for a hub to connect your entire plant for total system integration, give us a call to see if Ignition is right for you.

ACEC AWARD – LACLEDE’S LANDING PROJECT

We are proud to announce that CDG was the recent winner of the ACEC Grand Award for Category 1: Special Projects for our work with the LCRA on the Laclede’s Landing Improvement project.

The project is located in the historic Laclede’s Landing area of downtown St. Louis adjacent to the Mississippi River. The Laclede’s Landing Improvement Project focused on upgrading ADA accessibilitypedestrian walkability, safety enhancements utilizing LED street lighting, and the sustainable reconstruction of the cobblestone pavement along the 1st Street and 2nd Street corridors. The design schedule for a project this size, usually 12 months in duration, was shortened to under 6 months due to funding daylighting requiring forfeiture and repayment. The construction schedule was also required to be aggressive to meet strict funding deadlines all during the pandemic. The project implementation is a testament to the cooperation of the project stakeholders, reviewing agencies, area residents and businesses, utility companies and the contractors. The historic significance of the area offered a unique perspective on the design, construction and completion of this project.

NEW EMPLOYEES

We have recently welcomed a few new employees to our team. Please join us in congratulating Drew Donze on his new position in the Design Technologies Department. Drew came to CDG with prior BIM and Revit experience and is a valuable addition to our team.

Amy Touchette-Brown joined us as part of our Business Development team. Amy has prior experience leading BD efforts in the infrastructure marketplace, and we are excited to about future opportunities.

Finally, Liz Young began working with us full time in January of this year. She had previously been a part time employee, but we’re glad to have her fully onboard.

ROBOTICS TEAM SPONSORSHIP

At CDG we like to get involved in STEM mentorships as often as time allows. This year we sponsored a robotics team from Marquette High School (located in Chesterfield, Missouri). The team won 1st place for the Think Award because of the physics calculations that were shown in their engineering portfolio for the robot. Because of their innovative and strong design, they qualified for the state competition where they placed 2nd overall for the Think Award.
